Flower. Sun. Heart.

Flower heart truer than mine
Burning for air, for kicks, for giggles, and for naught,
You stand by your fence, innocent and pretty, and etch awe on the world and a smile on my face.

While walking my dog yesterday, I stumbled upon a pretty flower sticking from one of my neighbor’s yard fence. I have no idea what it is but it looked like a mama sun spewing baby suns was burning at its center, almost in 3D. It was so arresting, I had to snap a picture. It inspired that little blurb of a poem too.

The comment you made the other day about my shedding tears rather than keeping them inside ended up in my spam, though I can’t imagine why. Thanks for your caring words.
