Wat Arun, Bangkok, Thailand, 2013

While in Bangkok last year we visited the Temple of Dawn, a very different and unique temple when compared to the multitude to be seen in the Thai capital. It stretches over three levels to a height of 70 meters (about 210 feet) and offer a nice view of Bangkok’s skyline. The stairs to go to the top get smaller and smaller as you go and the last bit is a tad scary.

If you zoom in you can see that each layer is supported/carried by rows of demons and monkeys.
