Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, 2004.

DCF 1.0

I finished my South  East Asia tour in ’04 in Hanoi and took a side trip from there to the fabled Ha Long Bay for a three day boat tour. What a sight that was! Most striking to me, besides the amazing limestone islets, were the floating villages, often built on used plastic drums, that can be found there. There are also temples, as can be seen in the picture above, peppered around the bay atop the islets or not. Quite dreamy, especially the sunsets and sunrises from the boat.

I like your description “dreamy”. It conjures up the idea of far away places. 🙂
