Truth shall set you free
If it is yours and spoken
From your hallowed depths
Cyril, this speaks to my core. I feel freedom welling up. Beautiful.

Thanks vivachange! Follow thyself, there really is not much else to these lives of ours, IMHO 🙂
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Very nice Haiku. Delve into your depths and speak your belief in the truth and it will set you free. Excellent.
Haha, not quite, Ronovan. I was referring to the Truth of your being, which when spoken sets you free. Your Truth, not some generic, universal truth. 😉
Ah. Jesus as as generic, universal truth. Oh if that were only so.
Well, generic only in the sense that the core truths of his teachings are pretty much all-encompassing, as many great master’s teachings are, and in no sense personal truths which my haiku referred to.
The personal truths then are do not necessarily need only be good or bad but truths that are what make up the person whether they be good or bad?
There is no good and bad in this realm. What I was hinting at is the catharsis that comes from one getting to know oneself and verbalizing it without some of the shame and doubt that often comes attached with various aspects of one’s personality due to one’s histroy, culture etc… be it pain, regret, or whatever lurks in your depths unrevealed and thus necessarily un- or mis-understood and doubtlessly the source of much tension in one’s life.
If what I am understanding is the understanding oneself as the realm in which there is no good and bad then I think I might agree with you there since it is one merely dealing what is already there and present and needing to be revealed to oneself to move past it. Although it can continue to do harm if you do not go beyond it because then it might be bad regardless of its original source. One might then dwell on it once revealed and turn it into something even larger than it was before. (Been a while since we had one of our conversations.)
Exactly, Ronovan. But the first step is being honest with oneself and unearthing those things and verbalizing them, then once that’s done (and I believe that it is the bulk of the work there) finding and understanding where those things came from will take you the rest of the way.
It had, indeed 🙂
